Growing Local Missionaries

I fear we’re so accustomed to the idea that we’re bound by culture that our natural default is to see ourselves as captives or fugitives in our local and national settings.
exhibiting both a posture of godly conviction and also godly optimism––living as “resident aliens,” if you will, instead of living primarily as “aliens.”
we’re in many ways still living in the abstract world of conversations and rhetoric about needed action … while demonstrating little actual action.
equipping and activating us into a contagious, easy-to-pass-on, missionary lifestyle––a lifestyle that is already enabling many Christians to be agents of positive change in a host of different cultural contexts.
This little word “shalom,” in the minds and hearts of the people of God historically, rang of community as God intended it to be.
it would require them to venture out into Babylonian culture, not as victims but as a pervasive force for good.
church leaders need to resist the natural urge to create a Christian version of what is already happening locally.
